Hi I’m Olivia and today I will be arguing that homework should be banned. I will be talking about hours of school work, how it will interfere with after school activities and that kids won’t get much exercise I think it’s important that kids don’t get homework. Intelligent people know that homework should be banned. I believe that homework should be banned for the following reasons.
Firstly, I believe that homework should be banned because children already sit at school for around 5 hours a day so that’s around 25 hours a week. Also you have homework which you do after school. You get around 20 minutes of homework a night which equals around 1 hour 20 a week. All round homework should be banned because we already have 25 hours a week plus homework so in total you get 26 hours and 20 minutes of school a week.
Secondly, I think homework should be banned because some kids have afterschool activities and home work can interfere with that meaning that children will go to their after school activities then stay up really late to finish their homework. Kids can become really tired and will not do very well in school and all round at home.
My last reason is that while kids are doing homework they are sitting down at home at a desk or somewhere else and aren’t getting any exercise. If children or young adults have got a heap of homework and it is due tomorrow, then they are going to be sitting at home doing nothing but having their head hunched over which is bad for their health and they aren’t getting any exercise by sitting at a desk! Kids can become unfit if they have a ton of homework every night and are not getting any exercise.
In conclusion I believe that homework should be banned. I think it should be banned because you already have school for 5 hours a day. Secondly I talked about how home work will interfere with afterschool activities. Lastly I talked about while you are doing homework you’re not getting much exercise. Children have so much homework these days it’s enough to last them a lifetime. I think the best decision is not to have homework. I hope I’ve convinced you that homework should be banned. Thank You
